On MLK Day Weekend, the National Center For Children and Families, the Black Physicians Health Network and local community leaders are hosting several “Justice in Action” events in the Bethesda area. As part of a nationwide series of events for the Keep Black Love Alive campaign, the events aim to vaccinate the unvaccinated in communities of color through funding from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

The vaccination events will be held at the following dates, times and locations:
Saturday, January 15 from 10 AM – 2 PM ET at Goshen United Methodist Church (19615 Goshen Road Gaithersburg, MD)
Sunday, January 16 from 10 AM – 2 PM at Redeemer Church of Christ (10001 Aerospace Rd, Lanham, MD)
Monday, January 17 from 10 AM – 2 PM at Kingdom Fellowship AME Church (12101 Tech Road, Silver Spring, MD)
Monday, January 17 from 10 AM – 2 PM at Calverton Swim Club (12615 Galway Drive, Silver Spring, MD)

In addition to administering vaccines, volunteers will conduct a temperature check of the African American community using the WE in the World Well-Being Survey and help provide social/emergency support for underserved populations where needed. Chromatic Black videographers will also be on-the-ground to capture stories of the impact of the pandemic on communities of color.
